Irina, born in Moscow, Russia, graduated from the prestigious Moscow Art Institute in 1982 with an B.A and M.F.A in book illustration. Having illustrated a number of children’s books Irina found that her love for sculpting offered a wider range of expressing her artistic views. Porcelain had a particular attraction for Irina for all its historical importance as well as for the finer grain this material offered as opposed to other ceramics. Irina developed several unique techniques never been used before, setting fewer limits to her creativity.
Her artworks can be seen in numerous museums, here in the United States as well as abroad, most notably the worldwide unsurpassed State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.
